The Difference between Fat and Water Soluble Vitamins by TC Yeap

Water  Fat Soluble

There are two types of vitamins. These are fat and water-soluble vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins can only be utilized in the body if there is fat in the diet. Water-soluble vitamins can only be utilized when water is present in the diet.

There are four fat-soluble vitamins, also known as lipid soluble vitamins, and these include:

* Vitamin A

* Vitamin D

* Vitamin E

* Vitamin K

These vitamins are related to each other structurally and all are necessary in the body so that the body can maintain its daily repair as well as keep the organs functioning properly. These vitamins are stored in the body's fat and are dissolved in the body fat. This is different from water-soluble vitamins, as water-soluble vitamins only dissolve in water and are not stored in the body.

A person absorbs their fat-soluble vitamins in the intestines. Those individuals who have some sort of disease of the intestine are unable to absorb these vitamins properly and this typically leads to a vitamin deficiency. Fat-soluble vitamins can be found in fatty foods including fish-liver oils. Fish-liver oils are particularly rich in vitamin A and D. Vitamins A and D are also stored in the human liver where it is stored and used as needed.

People require nine water-soluble vitamins. These are eight B vitamins and vitamin C and include:

* Vitamin B1

* Vitamin B2

* Vitamin B3

* Vitamin B5

* Vitamin B6

* Vitamin B7

* Vitamin B9

* Vitamin B12

* Vitamin C

The water-soluble vitamins are inactive in their "free states" and are not stored in the body, so you must replace them on a daily basis. It is easy to do this through a high-quality multivitamin. These water-soluble vitamins are absorbed directly by the intestine and then go straight to the blood. Water-soluble vitamins are lost through the urine on a daily basis. This prevents the body from over-dosing on vitamins, but we must also replace these vitamins on a daily basis. Look for vitamins with high quality ingredients.

Vitamins Rich Food by Ethan Hangs

Vitamins are required for good health.

They help your body produce new cells, provide protection to certain cells, help your body break down food into energy and much more. Despite all these fantastic benefits many people fail to get their recommended daily allowance (RDA) of the various vitamins due to making poor dietary choices.Water-soluble C is decidedly affected by heat. Vegetables cooked for even twenty minutes at boiling temperature lose much of their usefulness in preventing scurvy. It is thought, however, that very young carrots cooked for a short time, and canned tomatoes, contain water-soluble C. Drying also destroys to a great extent the anti-scorbutic effect of foods containing water-soluble.

This vitamin is made in a synthetic form and added to some foods. You never need to be concerned about getting too much B12 as you would with some vitamins. An overabundance in several vitamins can cause havoc in your body. B12 is, however, different. This is because the extra B12 that you take in is stored in your liver for future use by the body or excreted out of the body.The term Vitamin K actually refers to not only one, but to a group of fat soluble vitamins that are essential for the synthesis and modification of certain proteins that are mostly required for proper blood clotting. In fact, the "K" is actually from the German word for coagulation, spelled "Koagulation".Because of these dangers, people on anticoagulant drugs should see their doctors regularly. Initially, it is important that the patient is monitored so that the physician is able to determine the proper dosage. Patients also need to be monitored when the use of the drug is discontinued, because it takes time for the body to restore the normal clotting ability.

The main job of Vitamin B rich foods is to break down the carbohydrates we eat into sugar glucose. This part is normally put down to Vitamin B1 or as most of us know as Thiamine which is used for the proper function of the nervous system. Vitamin B1 is found in a multitude of foods such as meat, egg yolk, fresh fruit and vegetables.A lot of the best vitamin K rich foods are vegetables, which a lot of people don't get enough of. A good way to make sure you're getting enough nutrients to your body can be to eat more vegetables, or even take a high quality multivitamin supplement.

While it is strongly recommended that you eat foods rich in vitamin K, this one is really unique in that the body produces it naturally, and we can go long periods of time without eating foods with this vitamin and still be fine. The body produces this vitamin from bacteria inside of us that usually resides in the intestines.High fiber foods, especially those rich in soluble fiber, provide a way to achieve natural weight loss without diet programs or pills. You see, soluble fiber regulates metabolism and digestion, and helps to stabilize normal blood sugar levels. Fiber rich foods also make you feel full, but they usually contain fewer calories than other choices on the menu. So, loading up on foods high in fiber, instead of junk foods will give you the gift of natural weight loss and you'll naturally feel lighter.

Prenatal Vitamin by Dominic Bowen

Prenatal vitamin.

Do I need to take a prenatal vitamin?

First IMPORTANT. The body only absorbs five pc of vitamins from tablets or pills the rest is dumped down the toilet. Discover how you can absorb 98%. Glance at the bottom of this page.

If you're really tuned in to nourishment and regularly eat a broad spread of foods, including beef, dairy goods, fruits, veg, grains, and legumes, your diet will provide almost all the nutrient elements you and your baby need.

Prenatal vitamin. Realistically, though, most girls especially those in the throes of early morning nausea can gain benefit from taking a prenatal vitamin and mineral supplement, ideally before they start attempting to conceive. Consider it as an insurance plan to make sure you are getting the right amount of certain important nutrients while carrying a child. And girls with certain health problems, diet restrictions, or pregnancy complications definitely need to take a prenatal vitamin. This includes veggies and vegans, women who are lactose intolerant or have certain other food intolerances, smokers and girls that abuse other substances, girls who are having twins or higher multiples, and ladies with certain blood defects and certain protracted illnesses.

Prenatal vitamin. What's in a vitamin supplement that I cannot get from food?

If you are a stickler for nourishment, you could already be doing a rather good job of getting what you need, but there are 2 critical nutriments that most expecting ladies don't get enough of from food alone:

Prenatal vitamin. Folic acid. Taking a supplement is the only real way to ensure you're getting the quantity of folic acid you want each day. All medical authorities counsel a regular dose of four hundred micrograms ( mcg ) beginning at least a month before beginning trying hard to fall pregnant and at least 600 mcg a day when you know you are expecting. ( And that's as well as the folic acid you get from food, which is basically not as easy for your body to soak up as the man-made kind in a supplement. ) Studies have indicated that doing this could lessen the danger of neural tube defects in your baby by nearly 70 p.c. Most prenatal vitamins contain between six hundred and 1000 mcg of folic acid. If you do not take one, make sure you still take another folic acid supplement. If you have formerly had a baby with a neural tube defect, you will have to take 4000 mcg, or four mg, of this vitamin every day beginning at least a month before conception. See your expert about getting a prescription for pills that provide this bigger dose. Iron. Prenatal vitamin. A prenatal supplement can also help you to get enough iron. Most girls don't get far too much of this mineral in their diet to meet their body's increased wants when carrying the baby. That's because of the fact that your body makes more blood when you are pregnant to support your growing baby, and in consequence, the iron stores in your blood can get spread pretty thin. To avoid developing iron-deficiency anemia when pregnant, most girls need to take a supplement. The amount counseled when you are pregnant is twenty-seven mg ( mg ) of iron every day 50 % more than you need when you are not pregnant. The Centers for Illness Control recommends that all expecting women begin to take a low-dose iron supplement of 30 mg at the 1st prenatal visit, either as an individual supplement or in a prenatal vitamin. Most prenatal vitamins contain between twenty-seven and sixty mg of iron. ( Be certain to keep your capsules out of reach of youngsters; supplemental iron can be deadly to them. ) Some women need to take rather more when pregnant.

The Greatest Vitamin in The World By Michae Baker

Vitamins

Scientists created synthetic vitamins that are cheap to make and are said to be
identical in their atomic structure when compared to whole vitamins (Vitamins
directly from vegetables). However, when polarized light was placed through
these synthetic vitamins, the light acted much differently than when placed
through whole vitamins. When polarized light is placed through whole vitamins,
the light beam bends to the right due to its molecular rotation. When this same
light passes through a synthetic vitamin, the beam split in half. Half of the
light will always bend right while the other half always bends left. This proves
that we have not created an identical vitamin and this is why synthetic vitamins
only give you 50% of biological activity as compared to whole vitamins. In fact,
research studies show that synthetic vitamins can be dangerous to your health!
Synthetic stripped down processed vitamins are currently being sold in almost
every brand name supplement today. If you truly understood the importance of
giving your body whole vitamins, along with the other critical nutrients we
placed in our vitamin, you would become a client of ours for life!

Taking the synthetic form of vitamin C, for example, can actually thicken the
arterial walls of the heart by as much as 2.5 times which can harm the body!
Ascorbic acid (synthetic vitamin C) is the word that you need to watch out for!
Click more on the vitamin button and educate yourself on what your body truly
needs.

Most Vitamin nutrients on the market today use stripped down synthetic vitamins
rather than whole vitamins straight from vegetables and fruits like our vitamin!
Why? Synthetic vitamins are much cheaper to produce.

Taking the synthetic form of Vitamin E is proven to actually suck vitamins and
minerals right out of the bones which can do more harm than good to the body!
Once again, most vitamin supplements today are using all the synthetic vitamins
because they are cheap to manufacture.

Whole Vitamins are critical for maintaining good health!

After reading this section, you will be shocked at how damaging synthetic
vitamins can be to your body! Please take the time to read this entire section.
If you do, you will never look at vitamins or your body the same way ever again!
After reading this, please contact everyone you know and tell them about the
serious effects that can happen when taking processed synthetic vitamins!
Working together, we could improve the lives of millions of people!

According to Taber's Medical Dictionary, vitamins are essential for normal
metabolism, growth and life of the body.1 They are indispensable for the
maintenance of health. Up until now there has been some controversy regarding
the necessity to supplement vitamins back into the diet. The Journal of American
Medical Association concluded from a study that every individual should take a
multivitamin everyday, thus ending that controversy.2

Research has proven that your body begins to pay the price as it tries to
compensate for nutrient deficiencies. Eventually, poor nutrition can lead to
devastating consequences. Please do not make the mistake of thinking that your
body is invincible. Your health is worth a billion dollars and it doesn't take
much to give the body what it needs and deserves. Bottom line, getting the
proper nutrients and micronutrients each day is critical to maintaining good
health.

So, now hundreds of supplement companies have looked to chemical derivatives and
synthetic vitamins as a solution. Vitamins are found in food, and just because
current growing and processing methods have depleted the vitamins available from
our foods, it does not mean that we should come up with new-fangled ways to get
these micronutrients from some other source. Instead, we should look for a way
to get more of the safe, effective vitamins that are available only from foods.

Let me explain by using vitamin C as an example. Ascorbic acid is often sold as
vitamin C, and yet it is only a chemically derived fraction of the whole food
vitamin. As it is found in food, vitamin C is a complete complex which is
actually made up of ascorbic acid plus rutin, bioflavonoids, K factor and J
factors - as well as other substances that no human experiment has been able to
replicate. You must have all of these fractions in order for the Vitamin to be
complete.

In order for the body to absorb and use a vitamin, all of the parts of the
complex must be present. That means that in order to use the fractionated form
of the vitamin, the body must first supply the other parts of the whole food
complex. If ascorbic acid alone is ingested, the body must complete the complex
by robbing its own collagen tissue of the elements that are missing in the "vitamin
C" you supplied.

This process is rarely complete and can even cause increased deficiencies. A
published study by Doctors Vinson and Bose showed this to be the case. They
found that vitamin C from citrus extract was absorbed 35 percent more than
ascorbic acid. Their conclusion was that; "Although natural and synthetic
ascorbic acids are chemically identical, citrus fruits contain bioflavonoids
such as naringin and hesperidin as well as carbohydrates and proteins that might
affect the bioavailability."3

Likewise, other vitamins have been shown in study after study to be more
effective in their whole food form. One study by J.A. Vinson and C. Hsu,
published in Medical Science Research, found whole food vitamin E and vitamin A
to be more bioavailable than isolated, synthetic forms of these vitamins. In the
case of vitamin A, results showed the food base product was retained 9.4 times
more than the synthetic form.4

Synthetic vitamins simply cannot measure up to the real thing. As of 1996, over
3,800 different compounds have been identified in foods as having nutritional
significance.5 However, in a laboratory, twenty nutrients are about all that
modern science can reproduce and put into a vitamin product.

Even more of a concern than the ineffectiveness of these synthetic vitamins is
the harm that they can cause.

One of the latest studies was on Vitamin C as synthetic ascorbic acid. It was
found to thicken the walls of the arteries.

With all this evidence to support whole food vitamins, why do you think
companies continue to make and market the "cheap imitations"? The answer:
Because they are cheap. However, while these companies may save money and make
more profit, there is no way the synthetic forms can match the effectiveness and
health promoting qualities of a whole food vitamin.

The human cell recognizes and can use for fuel, repair and function, only
natural, whole food complexes.

Whole food vitamins do not rob precious nutrients from the body, but supply the
individual cells with the nutrients they need to flourish. For greatest gains in
terms of health, take only whole food vitamins. When evaluating a vitamin
supplement, you can simply read the label. Rather than multi-syllable,
unpronounceable chemical names, you should find the names of foods listed as the
vitamin sources. This is your way of knowing that you are getting the best
possible absorption and retention of your vitamins.

Remember, next to the name of any vitamin, if you don't see a name of a food or
an asterisk leading you to a place on the label that tells you the food source
of the vitamins, you are more than likely looking at an inexpensive, processed
vitamin that is stripped of all other compounds that are normally present with
vitamins that are found in fruits and vegetables. If you see the name of a food
referenced to the vitamin, be excited to know that you are getting vitamins
direct from the whole food and, therefore, you are also getting the essential
precursors, enzymes, activators, antioxidants, and micronutrients (essential
compounds) that are naturally found with vitamins. These essential compounds
make it much easier for the body to absorb and utilize the vitamins you are
taking! Your body deserves to be given the right vitamins that are essential for
your good health!

Eating healthy, getting the proper nutrients, annual medical checkups, and
exercise are all critical in keeping the body strong and healthy.

We are proud to educate the world about the incredible difference between
processed vitamins and the vitamins you get when you eat nutrient-dense whole
foods like broccoli, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, acerola cherry, etc. We take
these nutrient dense foods, remove the water without removing the essential
micronutrients, and place them into each vitamin giving you the absolute highest
quality vitamins in the world.

You will notice that our product is capsule based instead of tablet. The
tableting process involves high heat and pressure which destroys the live health
promoting factors of whole foods. Don't be misled by supposed whole food
products that are rendered useless because of the tableting process.

We believe that by educating the world and by creating The Greatest Vitamin in
the World, we will one day be responsible for helping millions of people enjoy a
healthier life.

The Greatest Vitamin in the World was created to nutritionally support your body.
In addition to taking our whole food based vitamin, please feed your body less
processed foods and more raw fruits and vegetables. The difference could be
amazing!

Years ago we thought nothing of our children riding in a car with just a seat
belt to protect them. Today, since we are far more educated, most of us would
never consider having a baby ride in a car unless properly secured in a car seat.
We believe that by educating the public regarding the facts about our body and
the nutrients that are essential for good health, people like yourself will soon
look at taking The Greatest Vitamin in the World daily the same exact way you
look at brushing your teeth daily as being essential for good dental health. We
also believe that by educating you with the facts, you will find yourself
telling everyone you know about The Greatest Vitamin in the World!

Many people who begin to take vitamin supplements also start a workout program.
We suggest you get a physical by your doctor before you start any exercise
program to insure that you will be around for years to come.

Please check out the different links on this website. You'll see how dedicated
we are to teaching you things that could change your life forever. Your body is
worth a billion dollars and yet most of us abuse our body as though it has the
ability to handle major abuse year after year without paying any price. It's
often many years later when we discover all that abuse comes at a major price.
Let's educate ourselves and others about nutrition and our body so we can all
live a longer and healthier life. That is my personal goal, and the goal of this
amazing company!

Scientific Link Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Cancer by More Studies Link Vitamin D Deficiency With Asthma.

Vitamin D AND Cancer

A reemergence of rickets has resulted in United States in recent years. Exclusive prolonged breastfeeding that does not include vitamin D supplication is believed to be a contributing factor to the reemergence of rickets. Another factor is increased use of day care less outdoor activity and sun exposure. Also extensive use of sunscreens could be contributing to the symptoms seen today in children with severe vitamin D deficiency.

Then, one doctor diagnosed a possible problem which had been overlooked by other physicians. This doctor felt that my wife was exhibiting symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency.

Dermatologists have successfully hammered one thought into all of us: sun exposure may cause skin cancer, so wear sunscreen while you're out in the sun. What dermatologists don't tell us is that the vitamin D we get from sunshine can also prevent serious cancers such as breast, colon, pancreatic and prostate cancers.

Vitamin D not only helps to prevent cancer, but it also helps in the treatment of cancer. A researcher from Harvard Medical School published an excellent article (3) in 2005 citing the enormous evidence which strongly supports the anti-cancer role of vitamin D supplementation in patients with colon cancer. In the case of breast cancer, the role of vitamin D as an anticancer agent is promising. In the case of prostate cancer, it appears that the more active form of vitamin D, known as 1,25, (OH)2 vitamin D, provides anti-cancer activity.

Calcitrol helped prevent lung function reduction by inhibiting the proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the airways. The proliferation of such cells is part of a process called airway remodeling, a common problem for asthmatics which makes airways narrower and makes them more susceptible to asthma attacks.

Perhaps the biggest causes of being Vitamin D deficient are not getting enough sunlight and avoiding sunlight. Cholecalciferol, more commonly known as Vitamin D3, is synthesized (created) by our skin when it is exposed to ultraviolet-B (UVB) rays from the sun.

As we age, our kidneys become less adept at this conversion process. So, aging itself is a potential Vitamin D deficiency cause.

What is fascinating, and is critical for you to know is that there are well over 89 medical studies showing that high vitamin D blood levels (which can only be obtained through supplementation with more than 400 IU/day ...more in the order of 1,000 IU/day) reduce nearly all cancers; including cancers of the colon, rectum, breast, and prostate (some as much as 50%). See the following medical references: Lancet 1989, Nov 18:2(8673):1176; Am J Clin Nutr 1991 Jul; 54(1 Suppl)193S; J Steroid Biochem Mol Biol 2007 Mar;103(3-5):708; J Steroid Biochem Mol Biol 2005 Oct;97(1-2)P179; Cancer Res 2005 JKun 15;65(12):5470; Am J Public Health 2006 Feb;96(2):252; Ann R Coll Surg Engl 1995 Mar;77(2):85.

So, let's address the safety concern about taking higher levels of vitamin D. Is it possible to get take too much vitamin D? The answer is YES! But, how much is too much?

What Makes Vitamin B Complex Different From Other Vitamins

vitamin-b

Reading through modern health literature, it soon becomes clear to you that vitamin B complex is considered as being different from other vitamins. We are interested in finding out what exactly makes vitamin B complex unique.

And as it turns out, the main thing which makes vitamin B complex different from the other vitamins is the fact that it is not, in fact, a single vitamin. Thus unlike vitamin C (which is in fact the substance known as ascorbic acid), or vitamin D (which is in fact the substance known as calciferol), vitamin B complex is not a single substance.
Rather, vitamin B complex is a group of quite distinct substances, which are nonetheless classified as belonging to this ‘complex’ on account of the fact that they share some characteristics, and they are typically available in the same types of food. The specific substances we are talking about here, as being members of the vitamin B complex, include thiamine, niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid. Others are cobolamins, biotin, pyridoxine and folic acid.

Another distinguishing feature for all substances in the vitamin B complex (which is also one thing which brings them together) is the fact that they are all water soluble. You come to realize that there vitamins which are oil soluble and there are vitamins which are water soluble. And it comes to pass that the whole range of vitamins in the vitamin B complex are water soluble. Therefore, if during a biochemical test, a substance which is suspected of being a member of vitamin B complex is found to be insoluble in water, it is automatically disqualified from being a possible member of the vitamin B complex.

What is remarkable about the vitamin B complex members is that although they share the same functions in the body (mostly to do with cell metabolism), their deficiencies tend to lead to distinct symptoms. Thus a person who happens to be deficient in vitamin B1 (which is thiamine), will tend to suffer from that condition known as beriberi, which in the worse cases, can advance into full-blown Korsakoff’s syndrome – which is basically severe mental illness of the psychotic type. On the other hand, a person who is deficient in vitamin B2 (which is, in actual fact, riboflavin) will tend to suffer from the condition known as ariboflavinosis. A person who doesn’t get as much vitamin B5 as he needs (vitamin B5 being, in actual fact, the pantothenic acid), would tend to experience an inexplicable case of acne.

Therefore, the various members of the vitamin B complex can be said to play the same (basic) function in the body; that being the cell metabolism function. But they seem to play it in various ways, so that a deficiency in any one of them will tend to manifest differently.

We could also say that vitamin B complex is different from most other vitamins because there is a very wide variety of foods that one can get the vitamins in the complex from (probably on account of the fact that it is made of so many different substances). That is unlike, for instance, vitamin A, D or E, for which there is only a handful of foods from which one can get viable levels of them (the respective vitamins).
